WILCOX DENTAL OFFICE

The owner had outgrown his current space and wished to create a new state of the art dental clinic. The site was a triangle located between two rapidly developing commercial streets. A one-story frame structure with a partially exposed basement was to be adapted. The existing 1200sf structure was expanded to 2300sf to accommodate the program on one floor. The lower level was developed as speculative office space.

The ease of circulation was of primary importance. The design solution was to organize the operatories and hygiene rooms around an administrative core area. Lighting was provided by indirect sources and generous use of daylight in all the major spaces. Finishes were chosen to create a soft non- clinical environment to increase patient comfort and staff efficiency. The project was completed in the spring of 2001.
